Classes and Workshops

Raku Workshops : Join us for our next Raku workshop in 2008.

  • Fee of $85 per person.
  • Participants may bring their own bisqued pieces to use during the workshop. Bisqued pieces will be offered for sale for those who do not have their own pieces.
  • Pieces will undergo a Raku pit firing.
  • Non-participating observers are welcome!

Rick Epstein, will again present Raku workshops at the Juliet Rose Gallery & Studio.

Our first workshop was a great success. The Raku kiln was opened at 1800 degrees.

The results are hidden at first..

 

Then, after the pieces were cleaned, we were impressed with the final result.

July 1st -31st : We will be teaching Wheel throwing and african coiling at the Springfield museum of Fine Arts. Springfield MA.

We offer classes in many pottery making techniques, including wheel throwing, African coiling, slab building,and surface design techniques such as; sgraffito, glazing, and Raku.

 

Eight week classes include:

.3 hours of class time

.25 pounds of clay

.Firing and glazes

Sixteen week sessions include:

.3 hours of class time

.3 hours of studio time

.50 pounds of clay

Cost: $370

Class scheduling is flexible: we offer both day and evening classes. Gift certificates are available.
